Energy Engine has assembled a powerful leadership team that gives the firm Pan-Canadian geographical representation from top caliber executives, business owners and academics. The Leadership Advisory team will provide counsel on energy advocacy and energy procurement practices that impact local businesses, communities and the environment.
Michael Yurechuk, President and CEO of Energy Engine is a member of the Leadership Advisory Board. Mr. Yurechuk has nearly a decade of energy procurement experience and has managed in excess of $250M in energy supply for business clientele throughout his tenure in progressive senior management roles for some of the largest energy retailers in North America.
Joining the Leadership Advisory Board is Mr. Warren Bergen, President of Webbco International. Mr. Bergen has vast experience in real estate, venture capital financing, business consulting and he was the co-founder of a publically traded technology firm. Mr. Bergen states, “there are many businesses that could more effectively manage their energy requirements and costs. Energy Engine is a very real solution.”
Joining the Leadership Advisory Board is Mrs. Carol Bruineman, Communications Manager for Greater St. Albert Catholic Regional District. Mrs. Bruineman has over twenty-five years’ experience in Marketing and Communications working with a range of industries, both private and public, including the water and power utility sector for over a decade. Mrs. Bruineman states, “the energy industry is complex and any assistance that can be provided to help clients make an informed decision for their business is critical. Effective communication can increase understanding and remove some of the barriers and reluctance companies have in switching energy suppliers. Energy Engine will have the ability to simplify what has traditionally been technically complex for clients.”
Joining the Leadership Advisory Board is Mr. Steven Michael Reid, Principal and Owner of Rock Point Realty. As a professional lawyer, Mr. Reid worked for a provincial crown corporation, a private firm and since 2008 as sole practitioner. Mr. Reid is a founding partner in Rock Point Realty, a fast-growing real estate brokerage operating in Edmonton, Alberta. Mr. Reid states, “as a lawyer and real estate broker, I constantly encounter people who are either uninformed or misinformed about important, everyday considerations. Energy is like that – we all need it, pay handsomely for it, but how many people really understand it? Energy Engine fills that void – we demystify deregulation and help businesses purchase energy effectively.”
Joining the Leadership Advisory Board is Mr. Darren Snider, Principal and Member of Executive Committee for Avison Young Commercial Real Estate. With over twenty five years’ experience, Mr. Snider is one of the leading retail negotiators across Canada and his experience includes project leasing, land sales and tenant mandate work for many leading firms in the retail industry. Mr. Snider states, “Given my experience in the retail industry, I understand first hand the importance of utility costs and the role they play in affecting both the expenses and profitability of a company. When working on major retail leases the utility costs affect the rent retailers pay. Energy Engine helps businesses understand their energy purchasing options and manage the utility procurement process effectively.”
Joining the Leadership Advisory Board is Mr. Brandon Van Unen, President of Titan Construction, a leading company within the disaster restoration and construction industry. With a strong history in the energy sector, Mr. Van Unen managed an energy sales team responsible for the procurement of over $250M in electricity and natural gas supply. Mr. Van Unen states, “From a businesses’ standpoint, price stability is essential for any long-term strategic planning. Without predictability, there is no way to manage budgets properly, which are essential for planning growth and operational initiatives.”
Joining the Leadership Team is Mr. Kel Knutson, CFO of Petrospec Engineering Ltd. Mr. Knutson is responsible for developing and implementing the corporation’s strategic plan, vision, mission key objectives and action plans for a high growth Oilsands Service Company. Mr. Knutson states, “As CFO for a manufacturing firm, time is a precious commodity and managing corporate expenses demands proper attention.
